A decade after installation, Technoplan’s Air Recovery System proves its long-term efficiency and reliability
At Technoplan Engineering SA, long-term performance is not just a target — it’s a reality. Back in 2013, we installed our Air Recovery System (ARS) on an SBO20 PET blow molding machine. Over a decade later, we returned to the field for a post-installation performance review to validate the system’s efficiency and durability under real production conditions.
Objective of the Measurement Campaign
This technical follow-up focused on three key goals:
Assess actual compressed air consumption during production.
Fine-tune ARS parameters for optimal recovery rates.
Confirm system reliability more than 10 years after installation.
To ensure accurate readings, we equipped the plant with a high-precision flowmeter to measure air flow and consumption in real time, under standard operational conditions.
Key Findings: Reliability and Efficiency Over Time
The results speak for themselves: the ARS unit remains fully operational. Compressed air recovery is still effective, providing tangible energy savings every hour of operation. The system continues to redirect up to 50% of the compressed air used during the blowing process, confirming the robustness of our engineering and the long-term return on investment.
Proven Technology + Maintenance = Sustainable Efficiency
This case study highlights the importance of proper maintenance combined with reliable technology. With over 10 years in operation, the ARS unit has proven its durability in a demanding industrial environment. Consistent system monitoring and timely adjustments ensure that the installation continues to deliver optimal performance without affecting bottle quality or production output.
Conclusion
This follow-up confirms what we stand for: engineering excellence, energy efficiency, and systems that stand the test of time. At Technoplan, we remain committed to helping manufacturers extend equipment lifespan and reduce energy costs — one blower at a time.
